No, I'm not forgetting the about the license money, but I feel that losing jobs over lawsuits(if it happens) is more tragic than some license. If the lawsuits prevailed, that would cost much more than the license ever did.

Posting the same thing I did on the NCAA thread:

Anybody remember the Topps owning the rights to all Major League Baseball Cards? Same thing here. I don't see how this is any different and I refuse to budge. Topps didn't own the rights to EVERYTHING baseball, just the MLB. Just like EA doesn't own the rights to EVERYTHING football, just NCAA & NFL.

I opted out, no way do I want these lawyers to sue for this in my name.

I tend to agree with this. There is more football in the USA than just NCAA/NFL, there just isn't a video game for them.

Telling people like the NFL who they can and can not sell their intellectual properties too is a precedent I don't want to set.

While I am all for other companies making NFL games, the ends do not justify the means.

Nor do I believe this lawsuit has much traction.

Did you feel this way in 2005? You realize the exclusive license cost the makers of 2k5 and NFL fever their jobs right?

Fever was already cancelled (Microsoft basically shut down their entire sports game studio). Most of the 2k guys went on to work on the basketball project.
