If there's a lockout...how will rosters and contracts work?

Sorry if this has already been asked but how will this work? Will upcoming free agents like Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards be placed in free agency, or will they be given 1 year contracts? And will the rest of the players contracts go down 1 year from last year, or will they be the same?

Also if there is a lockout, I think Madden will be much more exciting and more fun to play since it will be the only NFL football we can experience.

good question, I don't think this lockout will last too much longer and thus everything will be ironed out.

There is going to be a season. I think EA would just act as if it's business as usual. If they are in FA, put them in FA. They can always do a roster update.

I'm sure the option will be there to have cap off or on (2010 rules) like it was last year.

Just do it as if there isnt a lockout and fix the salaries later,

This is actually, at least to me, a really interesting question.

My guess is that they'd maintain having an optional salary cap, but as to players with expired contracts, I'd assume they'd have to go into the free agent pool, at least initially.
