QB acc, sac, mac, dac......

Maybe I'm missing something but why do some QB's have higher accuracy ratings for Medium or even long (usually a generated guy) than for short???????? Common sense tells me anyone is more accurate from a shorter distance. I had this come up with a rookie QB who had good THP but his sac is like 70 and med 81 and deep 75. I can't throw a friggin swing or screen pass with the guy many times. What up with that?

some qbs are loke that, Mcnab comes to mind...a few yrs back (when they put those ratings in) he had a better medium than short. And thats cuz that yr he really did miss check down throws

here what we've come to the conclusion of in our online leagues...

one guy said he could use a 50 ovr QB and win the SB, cause even though his sac, mac, and dac were all terrible his overally accuracy was an 80. we are under the belief those intermediate stats relate specifically to precision passing so you can still get away with putting up decent numbers so long as you don't precision the ball.

there are other guys with good sac,mac,dac and bad overall accuracy who require your to almost always precision the ball, otherwise it will end up a souvenir. these are our findings, and i have noticed when i have a QB with good mac, i can precision pass/user catch 15 yard flags and posts all around the D. with a QB lacking the ability to precision, the task is a lot less likely to succeed.

I'm under the impression that the old Throw Accuracy rating exists only for purposes of simulated games, and that all the in-game accuracy checks are based off the newer ratings.

As to why the old rating can sometimes differ wildly from the average of the new ones, no clue.

This is correct. The THA rating is useless in game.

McNabb needs a variable added to his rating to calculate when a short pass should be chucked into the grass instead.
