Re: Let's have Bo Jackson for Madden '13 Cover

Probably Saturday, Colts get so many primetime games and he gets so much lip service because of how important he is that he's probably one of the more recognizable OL out there. I'm not sure how many non-Chiefs OL I could pick out of a lineup though.

Lol, Your righ how could I forget the best scrambling Qb that gave Cowboy fans such a headache. I loved watching him play in the day. Speaking of great weapons I think one of the greatest defensive line man of all should be thrown in the mix as well Reggie White. I think that would be a great honor for him.

I would go with Barry Sanders. I loved Bo Jackson, but Barry Sanders was one of my favorite players growing up and he has the stats to be part of the conversation

There's a decent sized chunk of this current audience that Bo would do nothing at all for, I don't think he'd have had a chance against modern players in the bracket process and is why I said no.
I'm not saying have him compete just select a player from the past...and I beg to differ on Bo's significance. He was just as significant in the sports marketing world as Jordan was when the two first started out. He was the first sports marketing phenom which is what the cover athlete signifies.

I agree...what about Jim Brown?

The difference being Jordan is still wildly popular and an icon and fairly relevant to his sport, and Bo Jackson is better known by today's youth as that guy in the Tecmo Bowl video.

Because of the way the sport is setup NBA stars are a little more timeless.

At the time when Bo played he was a step just below Jordan in Marketability (the BO Knows ads). He had a custom sneaker and was part of the cartoon Pro-Stars (i think that was the name) with Jordan and Gretzky. Additonally, he had his own video game back in day. I think the average demographic for a video game player is actually over the age of 30 which would could make Bo ideal to use as a cover athlete.

PS I would still use Barry Sanders
