I never blame the user for pre-snap adjustments, especially on defense. With no tiered defensive play calling, you almost have to make adjustments. Otherwise, you're stuck with Madden's prepackaged plays. Very limiting, and I hate playing defense in Madden because of it.

I guaranty, if they implement tiered defensive play calling, which would allow gamers to create the scheme they want in the huddle, you wouldn't see nearly as many adjustments.
