I gotta agree with everything you said. I've finally made my defense into a top 5 defense using those same kind of principles

Nickle Double Z with BNR and playmaker the saftey to the side of the field opposite the double...

Also over compensate by one DB in passing situations...

Like nickle vs.2 WR...Dime vs.3 etc...

Then blitz one DB or OLB for added pressure w/o sacrificing coverage...

Always have 'one over the top' to play 'goalie' vs. the big (broken tackle) pass plays...

Draft some corners or pick up some FA's as soon as possible that are fast...have high AWR...at are around 85 OVR...

I use the Redskins,Bills or Cardinals b/c all three have different strenghts and weaknesses to play around with....

but all three also have solid DBs/Safties...

the game is just made in a way that makes it essential to foucs on the DBs and OLB vs. the passrushers and run stuffers...

If you have a slow MLB get him off the field and go nickle more often...

good luck...we all need it this time around...lol...

And practice the 'swat'...if you can swat down 3-5 passes per game (that the A.I. wouldn't have gotten) you'll see a huge difference in your result...

This years ratings are alot diffrent. A 75 db would have cut it last year. This year, you should have at least an 85 rated first db.Other than that, ive noticed that the computer seems to pick the zone apart. So play man as much as you can. And mix up your defense!Keep playing, you will get better!

Thanks guys, after this I picked off the Falcons QB (not Vick) 10 times and went on to win 87-31, and 2 games later beat Harrington and the Lios on 9 INTs. thanks for all the help and advice!
