Take away the meter. Make it based on your memory of the proper timing.

You can do a practice mode before the game with the meter. Once the game starts, you snap the ball and see nothing. Hit a button where you think max power will be, hit a button again when you think it's in the accuracy range.

Make accuracy more forgiving at shorter ranges.

It's that easy...instant realistic kick percentages.

Not really, at least not at the NFL level. Last season the avg NFL team was successful 82% of the time.

Something like that could work, but once you get the timing down though it wouldn't be too tough. I have no problem with a meter as long as the timing/difficulty changes with the difficulty of the kick

Your meter has the same problems as the current one. Who cares if you can't see it? I don't see any free throw meter in 2K11, but I still manage to make free throws pretty easily. The same thing would happen here. Your problem is, you DO need a meter. It is one thing if you are always kicking an extra point from the middle of the field on the 2 yard line. It's another if you are all over the field, different distances, etc... You would have to show a meter if you want variation. Otherwise you essentially have what you have now, but you just want to hide it. And the problem with the current one is that it is too easy.

Overall in both EA sports football games the special teams need to be totally revamped. Still curious as to why the blocking logic on regular plays don't transfer over to ST. It probably would allow some chance for punt and FG blocks, as well as slowing down the damn gunners some.

I'd just make the timing of movement more variable (based on kicker abilities). In such a system a player would have to react to the timing on the screen (not knowing what it would be this time) and a lower rated kicker would have a higher variable attached to their default speed.

I was a kicker, not great - but I felt the pressure of every kick. It's not easy - I want to feel that in the game, these 3 click meters should accomplish that.

I just wish they could correctly get the contact types down. Not every smack of the foot is a flutter in the air - there are some knuckle balls out there.
