Re: Ratings and Roster announcement "near future"

I have one more item to add to the discussion. For those who are camparing the last 4 years of CJ & White's careers please remember CJ has only been playing for 4 years, White has played for 6 years. That said, lets look at both players stats from their first 4 years for a more accurate comparison.
Roddy White 250 rec. 3,536 yards 16 tds

Calvin Johnson 207 rec. 4,191 yards 33 tds

I think everyone can agree that White has played with better teammates and coaches, but CJ has overcome much more obstacles professionally and has better stats.

Agree with this ! and not just Brutal honesty....but brutal facts !

A scale needs to be built, to make "actual" facts like speed/strength accurate for all the players, not just a basic opinion... too many players that run the same 40 times have different speed ratings in Madden, that is not accurate ! Seems like too many ratings are based on a perception, not on actual things we know.

And this is why I am kinda hoping that the Roster Announcement is more than just ratings...like just maybe we will have Roster Sharing in Madden !

40 time isn't the same as speed in Madden. Some slow 40 runners play really fast on the field. So that may be one reason.

That argument works when your are trying to make some believe in a perception.

If player X ran a 40 in 4.54 and he equals 89 speed
then player Z that also ran a 4.54 should be a 89 speed

Now other things are in there, acceleration, agility and there are other measurables that can define what those rating are too.

But I do not agree with the saying that 2 players that run the 40 yard dash time should have a different Speed rating in Madden.

The only case I can see it playing out is with Veterans vs rookies.
Playing 6-7 years in the league does slow a player down (that and age)
So you could have a vet who did run a 4.54 six years ago...loose a point every couple of years....so he would now be a 86, and the rookie is a 89.

Calvin is better than Roddy. Deal with it. Roddy has a better QB and gets thrown to every other play. Calvin has to play with Shaun Hill and Drew Stanton , not to mention the Lions have no run game, and yet, Calvin still puts up elite numbers. Imagine if he ever had a good QB throw him the ball. Roddy White was a bust until he had a good QB throw him the ball. Calvin has been elite with the type of QB play Roddy had in Atlanta before Matt Ryan got there, when he was a major bust.

The absolute biggest chance for a person to be overrated is Peyton Hillis just for being on the cover after having a average year for an average good RB. Peyton has the greatest chance to be the worst player ever to grace Madden, one year wonder possibility.

Most underrated will be someone like Cameron Wake but several could fit this award.

If player X game speed looks faster than player Z then regardless of them both running a 4.5, Madden will make player X faster. Madden even said that they make players speed faster to try to ( like T.O. ) try to resemble their real life counterpart seeing that T.O. isn't blazing fast but to try to justify T.O. constantly getting behind defenses in real life, EA has to sort of over inflate their speed (Hester is an example too ).

1177 yards and 11 touchdowns is average? Didn't start a game until week 3. Not only that, but fans picked the cover. Not EA. So if you don't like him being on the cover, take it up with the people who voted for him. Also, who gives a **** who is on the cover? Once you open the game case, you will never look at it again until you put the game back in it.

On top of that, his YPC was better than Michael Turner, Chris Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall, Steven Jackson, and Ray Rice who all had more yards rushing than him.
