Final cut down day roster size?

Adembroski on topic: You'll always start the preseason with 75 players. If the roster you're using isn't 75, the rest will be generated. There are gems among the generated players. That's kind of the draw of the cut days feature. Early downloadable rosters will be real camp players. When the teams are down to 53, the rest will auto-fill.

My response: Since roster cuts are early August, why wouldn't franchise mode resemble this same time structure no matter if you start it week 10 or the 2nd day of release? At least give us the option of default rosters. Why would the overall ratings change from Donny Moore's first roster update, since that's what DPP is for. Just because Mendenhall breaks out week 10 IRL, doesn't mean he breaks out in week 10 in my game. None of the players should be generated. We have over 90 players and you are using 75, so there is really no need for it. It's not like week 10 IRL is when franchise mode starts in madden. It's early August no matter when you start it. Now, if it was week 10, then it could use Donny Moore's roster updates. Just doesn't make sense to use Week 10 roster update, when I am not even in the first week of preseason.

You don't have to download/use the weekly rosters do you? You aren't forced to use the weekly rosters...

In the past it has been becasue they needed to allow 2 players for IR, this year however it should be 53, and the LS is included,

I hope they fixed min requirements too, Most teams only carry 7 OL I wonder how they will get around this especially if LS is its only position this year

i will just be happy if the default rosters (play now) allow for 75 players. that way you can always have practice squad guys and stuff. just hide them in the depth chart and you can also use this to avoid the roster minimum requirement stuff...

Madden 12 will have us cutting 2 players before we even play a pre-season game (if I read that correctly). I understand a little as H.C. 09 was set up this way.

Getting technical.....

We should be carying the 75 man roster(s) past the 3rd pre-season game. After that game we should have to cut down.

Then following the the last pre-season game we cut down to our 53 man roster.

Hopefully Josh and the dev team are adding 46 man game day rosters for next season along with Practice Squads. (Just mentioning to be read by Madden Dev. Getting it rolling for '13)

There is no problem cutting players before the first pre season game, teams always do this IRL.

Honestly, I'm just glad I actually want to play PS games this year. Cut days are nice, and actually make me feel like I need to learn my team.
