The "WOW" factor for madden

I have to be honest with you guys about Madden in this gen of gaming..I have never had a wow moment or the blowed away feeling with any madden from 06-11. I might of had the "ok.. ok..I like " moment with the head nod ..but never that feeling I get while playing our only bball game on the market or our Sony baseball game..

I have to say that I really like the E3 videos so far, and the best I've seen on this gen...Im really hoping I will finally get the wow factor this year..Madden has so much potential and I just wanna be immersed with the realistic essence of the game of football like I am with other sports titles

Am I the only one that feel this way

Re: The "WOW" factor for madden

Last year was such a success for our Online Franchise that this year is going to be the end all be all of Madden Football. From a presentation standpoint I think Madden is going to be one of a kind. I'm pretty sure the cut scenes will change from Online to Offline, but I think most people are so jacked for the season because NFL is better then it has ever been. WOW? Maybe not, but another 6-7 months of solid gameage always gets me jacked!

If Madden hadn't screwed up the intros last year where they accidentally made Collinsworth only talk about the QB's experience, I think those intros could have been a "wow" kind of thing. There's still every once in awhile where I see a play develop and throw the ball right on the money where only my receiver can get it that gives me a "wow" kind of feeling, or likewise when I see a cutback lane and break off a 70 yard touchdown run, but that's more to do with me making a play rather than something that's just amazing.

The wow moment starts for me whenever I look at images of the game, and generally ends whenever I see the game in action.

Sad, but true.. It's looking promising this year though.. I still doubt I'll spend as much time looking at replays in awe as I did when 2K5 dropped.. EA's game engine and animations just aren't as fluid

Re: The "WOW" factor for madden

I've thought about this quite a few times actually. How Madden for me personally, really did lack that wow! feeling while playing. Even after an important scoring play...I just for some reason was always left with sort of a whatever feeling. And I just simply grew bored with the overall game and gameplay. And that blah attitude grew worse as time went by.

Where in contrast...when playing EA's NHL game, at times I'm fist pumping and yelling out..."He scores!", when scoring a big goal. I guess I just find NHL's gameplay and presentation more immersing.

NHL is the sports game that has given me the most wow. I like playing OTP with my friends, and we genuinely get excited and pumped up and experience real emotions throughout a game. I wish Madden would give me that; I'm always hopeful.

I get that way with fifa but the thing is, its harder to score in fifa than it is in madden, i can get touch downs all day long in madden no matter the skill setting, fifa not so much and i do a fist pump and yell out some times. madden is just to easy.
