This year's madden says that it only guarantees online up till 30 days after the last nfl game. Well last year's version was quoted as being online for a year to aug 16th. So that means that EA can cut the online out this year, in February. That is a big difference. The question is will they do it then or will they do it later. I have one interesting theory: It is possible they may cut it in February, then attempt to get people to play online by paying a monthly fee. This theory is not out of the question and I wanted to post to see what people thought. All I got to say is don't be surprised and don't think it is out of the question.

I think they are doing this because the Madden servers became a ghost town last year pretty much after the end of the season. I don't blame them for using the servers for other games (like March Madness for example) once the football season has ended....

(buzzer sound) but you couldn't be more wrong... I seen plenty of people playing to the beginning of summer. Especially those in online leagues

btw look the steelers to lose to Your Baltimore Ravens, defending afc north super bowl champs and next afc north team to win the super bowl again!

I tend to agree with Steelerfan. I'm sure there were many people still playing, but you have to consider bandwidth and only EA has those numbers. What was the % of people playing during up times and what was the percentage playing after the season? If there was a HUGE difference, they might've figured to just cut online play at that time.

Oh yeah, Steelers by 10 on Sunday if PGH's pass D doesn't show up. Otherwise, it's going to be higher. Boller isn't going to know what hit him with all of PGH's blitz packages. He's going to be a good one, but he needs some more experience...

I seriously hope they don't care charge a monthly fee. I think they should keep the servers up if there are still a lot of people playing madden after season, if it declines a lot, then they can take it out.

the way I look at it is, EA has made a ton of money of their games. They could at least return with servers up for a year for every game. Don't under estimate the money EA has made
