I understand that. It would not make any sense for EA to sell 5 games worth 59.99 for $25.

What I mean by getting a product key is that we pay them 59.99 for the product key and continue to play the download.

Just like when we get games on the arcade. You get a trail, and if we like it , we pay the price for them to unlock the game.
