These reviewers are ridiculous. No wonder EA/Madden feels the need to add stupid gimmicks and flashy features to games every year rather than refining,retooling, and detailing whats there now.

They are getting "bad" reviews based solely on the fact they don't have a big box feature like Pro-Tak or some other made up, broken, useless feature and that's a joke.

I'm a Madden critic because of the whole competition exclusivity thing but I liked the M12 demo and liked what they did with the presentation and refining and especially with franchise.

IGN review is like the guy played 3 Play Now games
Game Informer review is about the same.

I know, don't trust those kind of review sites when it comes to sports, but that is what companies like EA hope boost their sales and in turn, they put in flashy, sometimes incomplete features to get those high reviews.

Haha what a joke, I feel bad for EA now actually.

Why? I am thanking EA for at least one year of refinements and not caring about what these stupid big name review sites say about their flagship game. It takes guts.

Understandable, but for sports games, small refinements, tuning, gameplay and presentation are MUCH more valuable to a games rating than just adding a new feature just to add one and foregoing the rest of what I just mentioned.

It makes me think that maybe EA does want to give us hardcore gamers what we want but in reality, they can't, because sales will suffer even if they put out a great playing game without some big wonky front of box feature.

I am in total agreement here. I thought the demo played great. Not perfect, but I had fun with it. Been watching videos all day and can't wait to get home and try it out.

The general feeling yesterday was pretty positive. Let the reviewers get in the mix and it's instant chaos. I for one, am glad that they worked on the issues they worked on this year. I could care less what score a reviewer, that may or may not know anything about football, gives this game. I am not an EA supporter, but they just can't catch a break with Madden. What a joke this forum is sometimes.

I think the OP has a good point, reading through some of these online reviews its like some reviewers were waiting for a big feature. I just want Tiburon to refine the game and clean up any issues......if anything for next years game, give us halftime, post game shows, and NBA2K11 style commentary which will be good enough. I think sometimes they try to add some new marketing gimmicks that cause issues with the game.

It's funny, because they add the gimmicks, which apparently these review sites love and give the game a 9.0 but then the gimmicks ruin other ****, are broken, or aren't realistic but when EA refines what they have, make offline franchise 100x better, and add presentation and intros they get crapped on for not having a new gimmick.

It's a shame.
