It seems like the new preseason option will alter the true to life opening day rosters. I think the only workaround will be to control all 32 teams and make all of the proper roster moves to keep the opening day rosters in place.

So even if you wait for the opening day roster file, once you start franchise mode, the CPU will still make cuts differently from real life. That's why it seems that controlling every team may be the only option IF you want to play with real life opening day rosters.

imma prolly download the rosters after Week 1and roll with those

IDK, but im waiting for NCAA patch anyway before I start my franchise because with the tendency glitch I dont want guys playing wrong then being imported.

Doesn't matter to me .. my team usually changes anyways right off the bat ..

Don't care. As soon as you or the CPU make ONE transaction in the pre-season you no longer have a realistic roster set. By the end of the first season it's nothing like reality.

I treat it like the alternate universe it is.

Last year, I started a frachise with the original roster and played two seasons before the real life Week 1, then downloaded the "real" roster and started over. With the late release this year, that obviously changes things. I doubt Ill wait to start a franchise though. Its the sole reason I play the game.

I like to have the regular season rosters for my bears franchise but if i play with a different team it doesnt really bother me

I start a franchise with the 1st updated roster and play a few seasons. About halfway through the real life NFL season I will update rosters and start again from scratch. By this point in the season players are pretty set who is playing good or bad.
