Is it worth starting a Franchise with the little nuances?

Hello all,

Being from the UK, my copy of Madden isn't arriving until tomorrow.

I've been reading threads and forums, and following people's Franchises and stuff. I've been really looking forward to Franchise Mode, but some of the bugs and nuances seem to be putting me off. I was thinking of taking either the Dolphins or the Bills and trying to make them into a winning, Superbowl caliber team.

Is it worth starting a Franchise mode before the mode gets patched?
The stuff like the Scouting problems, the Rookies being cut after a couple of weeks etc etc, are making me think that the mode my be hampered somewhat, or not as fun to play?

What are you opinions?

Cheers

I'm in the UK as well. Where did you order it from that you are getting it tomorrow?

I plan on playing with every team and fixing up the sliders until I am happy and then starting a Franchise. I'll also hopefully be doing an online Franchise.

Hey mate.

I ordered from ShopTo. I usually get my games off them the day before the official release, so *hopefully* it'll be the same with Madden!

Shopto for me as well. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow as I'm off work and gearing up for a big weekend of Madden!

Re: Is it worth starting a Franchise with the little nuances?

I don't know about any glitches for the franchise or anything, I have noticed a few rookies being released like Terrell Pryor and Muhammed Wilkerson in pre-season.

I understand Wilkerson was a high pick but he's not getting released every year, just once, and all of my friends say he's still on the Jets on their chise.

That's the point of pre-season though, if there are players outperforming others, than you get rid of the bad apples.

Also I'm not sure about these scouting problems either. . . can you elaborate or post a link?

I do feel this Madden is wonderful and the additions are great.

Free Agency is exciting and fun.

Some games I allow 0 sacks and my entire O-Line gets a hot streak.

Finally we can trade for future picks, have cuts in pre-season, and have all of these player traits that change the gameplay.

I say the positives are outweighing the negatives in my opinion. Start a Franchise and have some fun!

Even though the PS3 graphics are destroying my soul it is still a great game and you can't say franchise hasn't improved from the previous next-gen versions.

The thing with Wilkerson is that he has "A" potential, a team would not release a rookie with "A" potential just because he was beat out for a job is his rookie season.
