Fullback Blocking

I don't understand why FBs are consistently just plain stupid. I play with the Texans mostly, they have Lawrence Vickers who is rated ~90 overall. On stretch plays he regularly just runs towards the sideline without even thinking about trying block anyone. On inside zones or Iso plays he regularly allows blitzing MLBs to run right past him to hit the RB in the backfield.

Honestly, i'm wondering why I even bother using I-formation because 80% of the time it's a complete waste of a player on the field. Is this just a playbook issue or are all FBs as dumb as a bag of rocks?

fullbacks are definitely hit/miss on this game. They run directly pass defenders or whiff blocks....but TE's are worse IMO.

Re: Fullback Blocking

I think that the fullbacks block pretty well in this game compared to ncaa.

I really wish I could make highlights out of the plays that i'm talking about as proof, but apparently it doesn't let you watch negative rushing plays after the game.

Re: Fullback Blocking

not sure if this is dealing with the fullback or not, but today i ran the most perfectly executed screen play i ever ran. All the DL went for my QB and my HB caught it with 3 guys infront to block 1 CB, and i had a for sure td.

But as it turns out, my blockers decide to turn around and do nothing and i get tackled for a 7 yard gain. I feel like downfield blocking in general is weak part of the game

I'm happy with the blocking, it's more hit than miss. I play vs users All-Pro/Madden online Pro-sets are an even bigger favorite part of my rushing attack. I know vs the CPU things can be different.

I actually only play online. I played against the Titans, gave up 4 tackles for losses from LBs due to the FB spazzing out. I only gained 30 yards on 9 carries. I usually run the ball no less than 20 times but I just got tired of getting backfield.
