Why can't we alter depth chart in practice?

I am playing my franchise and I want to practice with my 2nd string QB and HB, but it keeps saying I cannot change the depth chart. What is the point of having practice in franchise then if we cannot practice with backups?

just quickly change the depth chart before you go into practice.

That just causes more work and I'll have to redo my entire depth chart once I exit practice.

but when i do a practice in franchise and want to use a backup qb or rb i just click RB before i pick the play formation and you can make subs by position that way. sucks but thats EA for you

Yea I have been doing that, but it's annoying. Maybe a fix in the patch? Nah!
