Practice mode. That where you getting your timing down. But nothing beats labbing and if thats not possible, you can always play unranked games to get online timing up to par...

Some things I go by when playing
-Establish the run.
-Bend but don't break defense, don't allow the big plays to beat you. If you can force them to FGs obviously you have a better chance at winning.
-Protect the football.
-Win the battle of field position.
