How do I change the defensive assignment of defenders I'm not controlling?

How do I hot route a defender to blitz, zone, or man that I'm not user controlling? I read through the in game manual but it doesnt explain it very well.

I'm on the 360 and any tips or help would be appreciated, Thanks

You have to be on that player then hit A then set what you want. I wish they'd incorporate the way 2K did it where you could hot route players you weren't currently controlling.

Pick the player you wish to hot route then press down on the D pad to see the choices you have

Ok, I didnt think we had to switch to each player to change their assignments, guess we do...
