I should NEVER go for a pick when I press 'Swat'

This is by far one of the worst game mechanics I've seen in a Madden, and I can't tell you how many times in my franchise mode I called perfect defense, and had all my guys in position, and the AI got a huge play or score simply because my defender didn't do anything when I pressed the button to defend the pass.

It's things like this that are the reason that my disc case for Madden is now in pieces and the cover is ripped in half.

Both sides of the ball struggle with finding the ball. I think the worst is when you get inside position on the defender down the field, press the catch button, only to have the wr put his arms out like a zombie while the ball almost skims his helmet, resulting in an interception.

given up plenty big plays because swat animation don't trigger when I press the button, it use to work so well in M11

Maybe its got something to do with the player traits for playing the ball in the air.

What level u guys seeing this at? I know on all madden there is no defense assist and wr strafe...I bet on pro these controls work.
