I agree with the statement above. What people need to do is think for themselves and not get bogged down with "group think". Take the information available here on OS (and other sites) and use that to enhance your (insert game here) experience. Have some perspective and not deal in such hyperbole. I have learned over the years to immediately ignore any post or statement that includes the term "unplayable".
The key is to use the info here and not be consumed by it. Learning about the UDFA problems and a simple work around saved my Madden franchise experience. Slider suggestions help me tweak the game to get realistic results. Do I just take someone's sliders blindly? No, but they serve as a good base and the discussion and thought process behind their tweaks really help me tailor the game to my skill/play style.
The information here at OS can be important. I think the community here plays a part in the discovering of items that need to be patched. But, the OP is right, the info can be overwhelming if you let it be. The key is how you sift through the sometimes fluff/negative/inane information here and find something to inform you and enhance your experience with the game.
