And why is the word h@ter bleeped out? Are you serious with this?
Yes, this thread is intended to be serious even though the thread title seems to sometimes get taken out of context.

I understand anyone not finding it necessary to read through every post in any thread just to state there opinion on the subject. However, a good rule of thumb is to read the first post to hopefully get better context, imo. Granted, I probably should have come up with a less ambiguous thread title but I attempted to better articulate my point in the first post.

Now I am by no means claiming Madden 12 is perfect or even where I believe it should be by now but it does replicate more things correctly, than I originally noticed. For example, I saw Eagles L. McCoy, bounce a play to the outside after causing defenders to get "traffic jammed" to the inside. Whenever I see this happen in Madden 12, I get so frustrated when that happens to my defenders but Madden 12 actually replicates that pretty well.

That said, the one handed interception in Madden 12, is ridiculous because of the way the football "sticks" to the players hand, instead of being bobbled in and there has to be multiple "fight for the ball in the air", player animations added next year. In spite of things like this though, I have to commend the game for what it does get right this year.

Normally I watch the NFL and think "why can't Madden look like that" and even though there is some of that this year, there have been many moments where I realize, what I thought was Madden 12 "cheese", is NFL authentic. Of course these nuances have to be tuned better for authentic frequency but this year is better than the others, imo.

There is still plenty of room for improvement but I give the developers credit for this game seeming to finally be making a strong push to replicate NFL football.

Can't wait to see how Madden 13 and 14 shake out.

TNT, I don't know how many people are arguing that Madden isn't innovative. The problem is with their implementation. Very few of their innovations work properly... or stay in the game. It looks like you understand that too when you say:

Let's see what happens when I take apart your list:
  • On the decision front, we can choose personnel, alignment, positioning, motion, and assignments on offense and defense. We had more decisions on PS2 era Madden that have yet to make it back in the game.
  • 9-man Gang Tackles were innovative. Never existed in any game prior to Madden 10. Twas enough to win the technical achievement award at E3 that year. Where is it now? Instead of getting it to work better/properly, they scrapped it in favor of a new tackling system.
  • Lead Blocker Control was also innovative. Useful but little used, this innovative feature was a nice idea that was removed to make room for something else. It was really a band aid for the poor blocking logic in the game. Now that they have improved the run blocking logic, they don't need it. The Blocking logic isn't perfect, but it's a lot better. +1 for EA.
To continue, they had a really nice presentation tool they severely underutilized and then scrapped. I can't remember what it was called, but in Madden 09, when you made a bad play and had this feature on, Chris Collinsworth would run the play back, tell you what you did wrong, what play you and the defense ran, and what you likely should have done. Now, this tool could have been modified to improve the overall presentation of the game. Had they changed it from that"X-Men" war room/Madden Virtual trainer visual effect to more of a classic tellastrator look that the real John Madden used to use it would have been nicer. Also, it could have been used to highlight good plays, including good defensive plays. Instead it is in the garbage bin of forgotten ideas.
