In Preason is releasing an UDFA different than cutting them?

If i have salary cap turned off and am just trying to get rid of the UDFA's


If i go into player management, and just release all of the udfas from each team


Is that the same effect as cutting them?


Or does it have some affect on the free agent pool?


It would be significantly faster to release players vs cutting them in the cut screen each week.

Figured i'd see if anyone here had an answer

i sort them in *player management* then release all of em before week 1 of the preseason...they dont show up in the FA pool if done this way

and If say i had 70 man rosters before the season and did this, I'd be forced to release some real players as well.


Do the real players go to the fa pool? or are they deleted like udfas

Real players go into the FA pool

lol thanx...if ur using 32-team control, go into *player management* and sort them by potential so all the ???'s (UDFA's) are at the top so it would be quicker to release them all

just a heads up. i released all of the UDFAs in my franchise for year 2 in week 1 of the preseason and by the end of the season i had no one left in my free agent pool for QB, TE, LT, C...and a lot of other positions had limited selection. For year 3 i am leaving the UDFAs on the rosters at least through week 3 of the preseason...just to see if it keeps the FA pool from emptying by midseason. a lot of it has to do with the abundant amount of season ending injuries.

has anyone else been seeing this happen???
