PS2 Owner Mode Glitch From Hell

I don't know if anybody else has seen this, but after the third season in owner mode, right after the owner mode off-season section the game crashes. When you click on the off-season schedule, it shows all of the steps having been already completed and if you try to progress any further the game crashes. This seems to ONLY happen in owner mode, and not regular franchise mode. I don't think it's my disc either, since a friend who has the game let me borrow his disc and the same problem occured. Anybody know what's up with this?

I'm about 10 seasons in (simming) and have had no problems.

It could be a corruption with the save.

I'm beginning to think (after reading a post about a similar problem below) that it has to do with the CAP's. I'm gonna try to delete some and see if that fixes things. Lucky thing I ordered an X-Port a few days ago.
