defensive assignments/ defensive help

does madden 12 have defensive assignments anymore. im down 21-3 right now and i need to win this game except i cant shut down andre johnson. i need defensive help, any advice?

It's still in there. What team are you? You can't shut him down you can only hope to contain him.

Yeah, it's under coaching options under the paused screen menu. Put your best CB on him. My suggestion is to attack the QB. Great WRs like Andre Johnson can't be shut down unless you have an elite CB and, even then, he's still gonna make some plays. I like to attack the QB and start at the source. If the QB can't throw or is making throws under pressure, he can't get him the ball or will make bad throws. It doesn't hurt to double team him every once in a while, especially on third down.

Try playing press coverage with a safety slanted to AJ's side.....if u can jam him at the line it should disrupt the timing of his route...This should open up ur blitz packages as well
