First Round Draft Pick Player Role?

Hi, After the draft in my first season of franchise. The first rounders all had the "first round draft pick" player role. What does that mean? Will they eventually get the role of QB of the Future, etc.?

I'm just guessing, but I think it's an "identifier role" that the developers put in for a few reasons.

- First, I THINK that the First Round Draft Pick Role is a way to let users quickly identify who was a first-round draft pick.

- Second, I think it's a kind of... gateway Player Role. I'm thinking, when Player Roles are calculated every year, First Round Draft Picks are more likely to become an Underachiever (if they bust) or a QB of the Future (if they're a promising QB). Players probably can't become Underachievers if they're not First Round Draft Picks originally.

Good point. Thanks for the help! I was just curious and I hope that it actually does work as a "gateway" role. That would be pretty cool.

I think the cpu uses it to not let them be cut during preseason.

Do you think that it might also have to do with money, like when they sign their next contract?

I was hoping it would be used to keep teams from drafting the same position in the first round back-to-back, but the Redskins just picked a QB in Round One two straight years in my franchise. Ah well.

That happens because of player priorites, if you set it for the computer as it needs to be set they won't do that.

I thought one of the selling points on improved franchise mode this year was supposed to be improved CPU draft logic? Why in the world do I have to manually go into player priorities for every single team every single offseason and tell them what is important on their team? *smh*
