What Has More Immersion, Playing or Discussing Madden?

I am kind of making fun of myself because by making this thread, it's obvious where I fall. LOL

There has never been another game since the introduction of internet forums, that I have discussed more than next-gen Madden. I spend way more time immersed in Madden related discussion than I do playing the actual game.

NFL football is my favorite sports gaming genre and since Madden the game hasn't fulfilled my NFL gaming "jones", I guess I turned to Madden forums.

Also, since this is a thread in a Madden forum, spare me any "it's just a game" comments. I am not suggesting discussing video games or gaming period, is my favorite thing in life. I am stating that in relation to playing Madden versus discussing it, I am find myself way more immersed in the discussions.

I spend far more hours playing than posting about it.

I always seem to fall out of the franchise thread. I love to post game stories and such....but it takes too much time away from actually playing and my video game time is getting more and more limited as I get older. I get about 12-14 hours a week to actually play. Sometimes less.....sometimes more. But on average I can get in 2 hours a day. But I normally get in 4 hour sessions on Friday late night and Saturday late night. So 8 of those hours are on 2 days!


I find playing much more fun than posting.

I probably spend more time trying to fix madden then play it, and some of that includes using the forums.

I am enjoying Madden this year, but there are still alot of things that need fixed, so I spend time talking about that as well.

I do believe they are on the right track, but I cannot say I have complete faith that EA will stay on this track.
