Re: Madden curse strikes again

I don't think it has anything to do with the Madden "Curse." Hillis was never that great to begin with. He had a fantastic start to the season last year, but, slowed down significantly at the end of the season and has just stayed at that level since.

And Ryan Leaf knows a thing or 2 about being not that great. But this year has been pretty abysmal with all the off field stuff too.

Re: Madden curse strikes again

As a Browns fan last year I was all like wow this Hillis guy is having a career year and then after his last 4 games I predicted 600 yards max this season and then boom Madden cover and I was and here we are.

Re: Madden curse strikes again

Was just talking about Hillis to a buddy last night. He had one good year and thats it! I kinda thought he would have a very hard time duplicating last years numbers. Apparently so did the Browns front office as they are not giving into his new contract demands. Holmgren has done the right thing with this situation in my opinion. Of course you can't blame Hillis and his agent for trying to cash in after having what will probably be his best statistical year of his career.

I thought it was funny when Hillis kept winning votes for the cover of madden, heck I even was voting for him for the simple fact that I wanted to see if he would actually get voted on the cover, not cause I was a Hillis fan.

The scariest however was '10. Both Polamalu and Fitzgerald got injured xD

Re: Madden curse strikes again

I agree with Ryan and Scoonie. He has never benn great, but also a couple other things. One is he is injury prone, and two he puts the ball on the ground a lot. Those 2 things right there would make me think long and hard about if I would sign him to a long term, high salary contract. Although the fumbleing can be worked on.
