And I think that's what's wrong with gaming now.

Everything is about what you can put on the box instead of making the game really solid.

Seems like the industry in general is going to a "sell it at 75% completion and use patches" mentality. Now that consoles can download (unlike back in the SNES days), they've adopted this philosophy as well.

Re: Not enough pressure from DE's, too much pressure from DT's

With all the record-breaking passing we're seeing around the NFL, it was quietly turned into a banner year in the NFL for pass rusher's also. We've got multiple guys on pace for Marino's single season passing record, and a few that could sniff Strahan's single season sack record.

Jared Allen - 17.5 sacks
Jason Babin - 15 sacks
Demarcus Ware - 15 sacks
Terrell Suggs - 13 sacks
Jason Pierre-Paul - 12.5 sacks
Chris Long - 12 sacks
Von Miller - 11.5

And that's not even taking into account, pressures, hits on the QB, forced fumbles, etc. I love defense, so those are sexy stats to me, but game changing does happen along the defensive front. It's a glamourous part of the game if you ask me - look at the star Clay Mattews has turned into - and I think something that can be sold to the masses. The interactions along the front have been lagging long enough. Madden 13 should be the year of the pass rusher.

It absolutely should be. They should put one of the elite pass rushers on the cover and market it that way.

This issue makes it no fun for me to play defense, because its impossible to speed rush with any DE, and relying solely on swim/spin moves to apply pressure is no fun nor realistic.

For you guys having issues it has to be your scheme/playcalling. There are thousands of people not having any issues getting sacks or pressure with ends and olb. They are easily surpassing dt production in online franchises. We have compiled the stats of over 800,000 games and they are completely dominated by ends and olbs

You guys must blitz alot, because blitzing frees up the DE/OLB to get sacks/pressure. We should be able to apply pressure without blitzing.

EDIT: You mentioned compiling stats, im guessing that means for simulated games? Im refering to the games you actually play.

Thats basically the same thing you see in the nfl
A 3-4 man rush vs 5 dlineman and a hb isn't very good odds. You should expect to get stomewalled with odds like that. Unless you have a monster pass rushed you won't get any sacks like that.

No its not. In the NFL teams are able to get pressure from DEs without blitzing.

This game works completely backwards in that DTs get as much pressure if not more than DEs. There is no way thats real life.

Lets take a look at the video evidence, shall we?

I apologize for the audio quality, turn your volume down.

That was a total of 17 dropbacks...
Amount of times DT reached QB alone: 8
Amount of times DE reached QB in combination with DT: 9
Amount of times DE reached QB alone: 0..........thats right 0!!!!!!!!
