Not enough pressure from DE's, too much pressure from DT's

This has to be my biggest complaint with the game.

No matter how we set the sliders, its impossible to see a realistic pass rush.

Its either watch the DE's get manhandled continously, or watch the DT's bust through the line continously...no happy middle ground.

I made a thread about this in the NCAA 12 forum as well...because both games have the exact same flaw:

Defenders never squeeze the pocket & reach the QB in a realistic way, the only way defenders can get past the OL is to completely disengage with a swim or spin move, which leads to DT's getting more sacks & pressure than they should, and DE's less than they should.

Its time we see a realistic pass rush where DE's get the majority of the pressure and sacks. Please improve this EA.

EDIT: Video evidence of the issue:

That was a total of 17 dropbacks...
Amount of times DT reached QB alone: 8
Amount of times DE reached QB in combination with DT: 9
Amount of times DE reached QB alone: 0..........thats right 0!!!!!!!!

Re: Not enough pressure from DE's, too much pressure from DT's

something I would suggest is putting your best pass rusher on the left side.

RE's and ROLB's dont get the pass rush they should in madden but the LE's and LOLB's do

so on the depth chart I switch them up for played games and leave them in position for simmed games

honestly,
this is very disappointing because the LE dominance has been a problem in madden for as long as I can remember.

It's like a right handed development lol.

Anyway I've put the Coaching Schemes thru a lot of testing and if you lower the priority of Dts and make the style run stopping and then make DEs in 4-3 schemes style Pass Rusher, in 3-4 schemes OLBs should be set to pass rushing too.

In 3-4 schemes I like to lower the priority on DEs too. Basically make sure the Centers and guards have a higher importance than the DTs and DEs in 3-4.
If I lower the priority on OTs it helps to get better pass rushing from the edges.

Re: Not enough pressure from DE's, too much pressure from DT's

I tried the coaching schemes, and it doesnt help. DTs bust through the line and get more pressure & sacks than DEs.

This is a fundamental flaw with the game engine that cant be fixed through sliders, because the only way defenders can get pressure is by completely disengaging from the OL, and DTs are closer to the QB than DEs are.

Coaching Schemes has worked for me.

Hmm bc when I put the Dts priority to 0 and run stopping they just take up space and bounce from lineman to to lineman.
Sorry to hear coaching schemes didn't work for you.
