98 OVR Rookie

I wanted the most current roster for my Franchise so I downloaded the latest online roster. I changed Aldon Smith, 87 OVR ROLB, to RE and he became a 98 OVR Rookie! I didn't change anything else, just his position from ROLB to RE.

So now he is the second highest rated RE in the roster, which is not bad for a rookie!

That is normal.

Any elite, or semi- elite OLB with good speed and or accel will become a 98 or 99 DE if you change their position - it has been that way pretty much forever in Madden because of the stat values.

Totally unrealistic though.

OVR doesnt mean anything on the field

I remember in my 4th Season as the Saints, I had a rookie QB who I drafted which turned to a 99.

Its normal. Good rushing LB's will turn into elite DE's if you change their position
Von Miller is immediately a 99.

He turned to a 99 as in "a few years later, he was 99" or "he was 99 OVR as a rookie"? Because the last one would be really weird, I can only say that the best QB in the pregen rookie classes is something around 82, don't know what's possible with imported classes but I highly doubt a 99 OVR rookie at his position is even possible.

Not if you make Von Miller a RE. If you change him to RE, he is 97 OVR in the latest roster update. Aldon Smith gets a 98 OVR at RE. Both Smith and Miller get a 99 at LE.
