Is there a trick to loading rosters?

I just got Madden 12 after a several month boycott. I want to start a franchise and went to the online mode and downloaded and saved the Jan 03 roster update. However, when I go to player management all I get is the default rosters (Sidney Rice on the Vikings, etc).

I have gone in several times to load the roster and then go to player management and it is the default again. What's the deal?

The online roster saves as "Custom". Load "Custom" and overwrite "Default". Then when "Default", the roster formerly known as "Custom", loads on startup and after exiting a mode you will be satisfied.
