Madden 2005-good purchase? questions

I was just at Good Will dropping off some old stuff, and found Madden 2005 for Xbox. I decided to get it because I love madden and it was a meer 3 dollars. Is it a good game? Can I play it on Xbox 360? Can I get updated rosters?

None of the Xbox Maddens are compatible with the Xbox 360.

You need an old Xbox to play them.

Madden 05 was a good game at the time!

Can't play it on 360 - incompatible.

Updated rosters aren't available and there's not enough memory to create all the players you'll need. The online servers for Madden 2005 have been shut down for years.

Lastly, you probably could have gotten it for $2.00 or less at a game store - if you could find it.

Funny this should come up because I picked this up today for 99 ct As far as not enough memory for rosters,I'm probably wrong but I would think the 8gb hd would be more than enough plus you can always rename/re-edit current players in the game.I'm actually thinking about doing a roster for this because I love 05.

If you're going to buy an old-gen Madden, I suggest Madden 08 for the PC.

It has the most active modding community by far of the old-gen games.

There are updated rosters available, although you need to mod your xbox to transfer them. There does not appear to be any memory issue at all.

Madden 08 is definitely the most active community, and thus the easiest route to playing an older gen Madden with updates as wEEman33 stated. These updates are much easier to find and are trustworthy.

Madden 2005 is arguably the most beloved Madden incarnation of all time so I find it worth playing with an updated roster from time to time.
