Re: vgrevolution madden 13 hands on

Magaman, did they tell you what they are planning for June 4th? I am very interested in this "monumental" gameplay change. Obviously, I wouldnt expect you to tell us what exactly it is. But I am curious if they said "here is a build with what we have talked about so far." We will be introducing another "momumental" gameplay addition on June 4th.

I am still truly holding out hope that there was a huge addition to the physics engine for tackling. I have no idea what else could be considered "monumental" unless they are talking about some garbage kinect feature. Or an upgrade to DPP or something. I would assume that would be its own feature blog though just like it was last year.

I'm beginning to think the guys at community day were fed a bunch of BS with all this CBS presentation stuff that got them all excited just like their doing to us right now, only to be let down when 8/28/2012 arrives.
Actually to be fair, I didn't get the impression that Madden 13 was going to be all that awesome from the community day guys. This Madden will be exactly like every other Madden the last 7 years. The improvements will be small and it will make the game seem better for about 3 weeks until you start seeing everything recurring again. My excitement level for Madden 13 is at about 2/10. By August it will be 3/10.

Thanks for the info Megaman. Like what I'm "reading" so far. As long as improvements are being made then I'll be happy.

I certainly can't speak for CM, Rynoaid, or any other CD fella that posts here. But I expect to have a lot of fun with M13 as I've had with M12.

For those people who found little to no enjoyment from M10, M11, or M12, then it would be naive to expect M13 to knock their socks off. We have to be realistic here.

At the end of the day, regardless of the improvements, the identity is still going to be Madden. Sports games don't change radically year to year. They improve, and if improvement is not enough for one's enjoyment, tough titty ...

The only opinion that matters is your own and I just don't have enough of one from a webcast and previews to declare 13 is da bomb or it bombed.

Maybe by E3 or when the demo drops is when I'll have a better feel for it.

Taz, that might have been true for the last several years, but in all fairness, there are some new people in charge that seem to be pushing for sim football.

If you are right for 13 like it's been for the last several years, I'll be the first to acknowledge you.

So far, I like the changes, no one else has to agree.

Ok, a tough question I think you can answer without breaking any rules.

I am someone that enjoyed M12 for 2-3 months before numerous reported game play issues, a lack of online tools to address those issues, no elements to make offline franchise feel cohesive/"living" and the incomplete online franchise mode, proved too much for me.

So, in your opinion, is there a decent chance I will be able to enjoy M13 far longer than M12 or no?

And as far as impact goes, it's been toned down, not as many whacky flipping through the air tackles that jsut look out of place. There are still big hard hits, and a defender dropping a shoulder will cause a runner to go flipping over them.
Does it to a better job of representing the struggle between offensive/defensive player? That's one of the things I really loved about 2K8,the interaction between offensive/defensive player and I'm hoping M13 improves in this area.
