Innovation for innovation's sake is not my bag. I played fever extensively, and the system they had was interesting, but cumbersome as heck. For a QB mechanic, you need to be able to make snap decisions and go from one side of the screen to another almost instantaneously (ie looking at a streak on the left and checking down to a swing on the right). The difference with other games such as FPS is that if you get shot once you usually don't die (another concession). As a qb you need to be able to move that cursor around precisely in a literal split second. That doesn't seem feasible without a mouse. On madden pc (if they ever brought it back) that would potentially be awesome, but on the sticks?

To me it's a matter of design philosophy. I'd rather them focus on the strategic aspect of the sport than the biomechanical aspect of it. Allow me to have some real control over placement, but I'm not throwing a football. I'm using a controller.

That was my biggest concern if its all about the ball hitting where you placed the marker than accuracy was not going to be a factor, and that would be a crime

Its very important that various options are given to play the Qb position. Lets just take MLB the show for example. They did not offer just one way of hitting the ball. The offeerd 4 various methods, and the same with pitching. That is how you cater to a larger fan base.

EA should do the same with the Qb position. Offer various ways to play the game as a QB. At this time we should have had a normal interface what is about to be offered in Madden 13, and the vision cone. Then add the Fever sytle.

Madden needs to keep pilling on the features.
Removing vision cone was a top 3 worst decision they've made this gen, IMO. That system had its flaws, but it replicated making reads and looking off defenders in a way that I thought worked really well.

Accuracy could be what sets the size of the passing cursor.?.?.?
The higher accuracy QB's have a smaller cursor which pin points the throw, lower ccuracy has bigger cursor and the ball can hit anywhere the cursor is...
Just some more thoughts....

sounds a lot like the vision cone - i actually really liked the cone. as far as looking cartoonish it didnt help matters but the idea of the cone was awesome. it was a great way to look off user defenders and it made AWR a big deal for QBs.

i miss the cone

Well with the vision cone it still w hit x for wr x. With the cursor system you can throw wherever.
Also the vision cone was just a larger area to see as you played with better qb's.

In the fevers cursor system even screen passes were fun as you had to place the ball in a good position to get the most out of it.

Maybe one day we'll have some options...

Which is why most who liked fever (like me) say it needed fine tuned.
It was too sluggish as far as movement but the general idea was ,imo, still better than hit x for x system.
We basically have the same passing system for YEARS, its time to give some options.

Agree mainly due to it was another option.
Even though it was still the same basic formula at least it was a change.

If it isn't your bag, that is 100% fine and understandable. Just don't tell me that it can't work, because it already did almost 30yrs ago and it wasn't with a mouse.

That's all I'm saying.
