Offline lag/frame rate?

i remember this specifically on ps2 back in the CG days. Every now and then i feel it playing ps3 but have never noticed it on 360 or xbox.

I only have about half my hard drive filled up. Installing the game doesn't make a difference. At least it didn't in 10 or 11. There is nothing gained by installing 12 either.

It happens/happened on my friend's 360 as well... so that's total of 3 different 360s this is happening on between Madden 10-12.
