Give Me Pre-Game Formation Subs*

I need this. I'm the type that's too dialed in during a game to always remember the small details like subbing in my 4th WR because he may be a situational specialist.

I don't want my ALL back-ups (2nd stringers) on ST's, as it is now it's the same group of players no matter what.

We had this, it was a great feature, it allowed me to have my team prepared for any situations PRIOR to the game. That way by the time the game began all I had to do was play. Bring it back.

Agreed. The way it is now is too messed up. You have to do it in game and as far as I've figured out, there's no way to 'reset to default'. The old version was much better.

Formation subs are all but useless to me. I live for situational football. I live for looking for mismatches. I don't want my pass rush specialist playing every nickel down, which is what you get when you sub him into that formation. I've got a possession receiver that's 80 speed, but catches everything. I only want him playing on 3rd downs in the slot in gun empty. With formation subs, these guys play in every formation I sub them into regardless of package.

What I would rather have is a return to custom packages; which is closer to what NFL coaches do gameplanning wise.

Why can't we have both? I'm like you in that I have certain situations I use certain players, but I'm also like the OP in that I forget to put in my pass rush specialist in for nickle and dime formations or forget to put my big DT's in for goal line situations and so forth. Why can't we just have both?

Oh, I don't have a problem with both. I was just stating my personal perspective that the formation subs alone don't go deep enough for me. And I just wanted to make the point if there as anyone out there to make a difference that custom packages are closer to the way NFL coaches build their gameplans.

As it is right now with formation subs, if I wanted a 3DT line, or if I wanted to drop by SAM down as a rush end in a Nickel or Dime, I'm stuck with that lineup no matter what package I flip to with the right stick. That's terribly limiting from a strategic POV.

I've got no issue with both, though and I'm a little sad that I took it for granted when we had both.

I can't even explain my frustration with this. This has to be in the game and I can't believe they ever took it out.

Just add it to the system already in place. Allow me to set the default formations before I enter a game and allow the adjustments to be made in game.
