I honestly don't know what "clicked" in me recently, maybe it's because I finally seem to have more immersion extras to try to enjoy Madden and potentially overlook the game play issues or after going on 8 years I finally actually accept Madden "is what it is" but some posts I read are starting to seem way over exaggerated, imo.

I watched that clip last night and LOLed but even if others didn't find it funny, there is enough E3 game play footage available to critique without doing so with this late night talk show skit. At some point it starts to seem more about taking every opportunity to espouse our preconceived feelings about the game, good, bad or indifferent, instead of just discussing something for what it is.

That said, I bet that was tough for Looman to go out there on national tv like that, his hands seem to be really sweaty but he did alright, imo. It reminded me of having to stand up in class or in front of a small group of people you don't know and deliver your spiel but I can't imagine doing it on national tv. Also, Darrelle Revis seemed pretty much like just a prop or something, just run of the mill routine marketing.

I hear ya. Most sim gamers like us are not gonna immidiately run backwards with our QB's as soon as the ball is hiked anyway. The guys I play with dont play like this, and the CPU doesnt play like this either, so it doesnt matter to me. Its just the fact that you could actually pull this move off if you wanted too which is bad for guys who play online against cheesers. I personally am not very mobile with the QB. The only way I ever run with the QB is if nobody is open and there is a hole in the defensive line for my QB to run through. I barely ever run to the sidelines.

^^^ Exactly right. That's why I said in a post a few weeks back that got people upset. There is a difference between madden fans and football fans. It wasn't meant to be an attack on the folks on this site, even though that's how some folks interpreted it. What I've realized is that the audience for Madden is more interested in having constant success. They will utilize what the game allows you to do to achieve "success". These tactics are not based on real football principals, because God forbid you might learn something about the REAL game. These tactics are "Madden" tactics. Figuring out what combinations of hot routes and blitzes make guys get free every time. Don't believe me? Go on the web and youtube it. You'll see tons of videos explaining these tactics. There are web sites dedicated to it and then they talk about a "scheme" they are running, like they are the next Bill Walsh. Give me a break.
