What is EA doing???

For some reason, EA sports has claimed on there website that Madden 13 is winner of "best of show" by GameInformer at the E3 showcase. But if you go to the gameinformer website it says they thought Assasins Creed 3 was best of show????

Maybe im screwed up and looking at the wrong thing but, this reminds me of the time Michael from "The Office" gave himself an award at the company christmas party because he started to become jelous of the other co-workers. Is this a common practice for EA?

They were probably awarded Best In Show for sports and just neglect to add that part.

Possibly Best of Show in the sports division? I don't see this mattering either way.

If you go back to the previous pages on the game informer link they gave best sports game of E3 to FIFA. Madden didn't win anything from game informer. Not really sure how you can say it means nothing. If the award is false than its fake advertising.

There was a similar thread around here a few years ago.

I did hear from some GC's and other reports that GI did vote EA as the Best Sports Game at E3

Maybe they changed their mind when they came home and wrote up the article.

LOL, that is too funny OP. I can't figure out why they would do this either, maybe just some error or something. They don't seem to have won that award though, just plain odd.

It wouldn't matter to most if the did win it but it's still odd to have them claiming an award they didn't seem to actually win.

They probably won for best NFL game... It's pretty easy to win when you wipe out your competition with Roger Goodell and the all mighty dollar.
