That might provide a strong logical base for why things that happened, did for a CPU team. For example, if Mike Shanahan in CC had a DCP trait for favoring young QBs and one cut average RBs, then it would make sense to see the team he is HC/GM for, take a QB with their first and fourth round pick as well as trade or cut a marquee RB.

I am hoping that's where Looman is headed because it would add a lot to what Head Coaches, went where within CC. Imagine being in a division where Bill Cowher suddenly got hired to coach a team You would know it would only be a matter of time before he put his staple on that team and it would add another realistic dynamic.
this really needs to be submitted to the game changers site.

Do you go for balanced team? Keep potencial? or Highest OVR

Dont think their is a quick fix as much as we playing would like, not an easy thing to code when GMs themselves are trying to make these human decisions
There is a few ideas out there like having backend "roles" for players. Sort of like last gen where you had like a "1st round QB" or whatever. You could possibly weight those roles so the game see like a higher overall than actually is.

Yep, this is a legitimate issue that effectively ruined franchise mode last year for people who desire somewhat realistic behavior by the cpu. With 32 team control, there was a least a workaround, arduous as it was.

If it doesn't work correctly this year, then there's no point for offline only franchise players to buy the game.

I hope they fix positional groupings. It got annoying to see CPU teams with over 10 offensive linemen and 6 linebackers (especially those that played a 3-4 defense where you need 7 linebackers as a bare minimum).

I pretty much posted that exact idea here a while back. I took a bit further where coordinators would also be dynamic and change based on where they've coached and who they've coached with. It's one of the pet peeves I've had about Madden is that coaches are pretty much meaningless.

A potential fix for this issue would be for the CPU to take player potential into account when evaluating players. But... player potential has been removed in Madden 13, which leads me to believe that we will again see the same issues with cut days.

EXAMPLE:

The 49ers have four running backs:

Frank Gore
Brandon Jacobs
Kendall Hunter
LaMichael James

Most teams in Madden will carry three running backs, and if LaMichael James has the lowest OVR rating of the 49ers running backs, he may end up being cut. James was a second round pick of the 49ers, and despite being much younger than someone like Brandon Jacobs, we may see him cut by the CPU 49ers in CC.

Another rookie that the CPU may cut is quarterback Nick Foles - The 3rd round pick by the Eagles may be the 4th rated QB on the Eagles roster with Michael Vick, Trent Edwards, and Mike Kafka potentially rated higher than Foles.
With the QB ratings released, I see that Nick Foles is the 4th rated QB on the Eagles. Fingers crossed that logic is smart and doesn't cut him...

Yeah it would be nice if they added a we just drafted him logic to the cut days. Before the Bengal traded Palmer, Andy Dalton got cut last year lol

Re: Concern with Madden 13 Cut Days

I can't imagine how much worse it will be if there are still some issues with the AI cutting high round draft picks and there is nothing the User can do to fix it other than wait for a patch. At least last year, we could control all 32 teams and while it was a pain to go through and do cuts for every team and was able to fix the AI cut issue.

Now there is nothing we can do since EA wants us to play with a horrible AI cut system and there is nothing we can do to get around it.
