I still don't understand the trade logic in Madden in general.
In Madden 12, I edit my OLB Paris Harilson to DE where he becomes like a 95 or 98 OVR or something high like that... offer up this year and next years number one picks for Jared Allen and the AI says no.
In real life the Broncos traded Tebow away for a 4th round pick... I put Manning on the Broncos and started a franchise and The broncos won't take a 2nd round pick for Tebow, only a 1st.
I can take my 49ers, offer Crabtree and Alex Smith and a 3rd round pick for Tebow and they won't bite... just to try.
Last time I tried, I couldn't get 72 [or so] OVR NT Tarrence Cody from the Ravens for anything reasonable. I offered a better OVR NT and picks and they said no. I couldn't get Luis Castilo off of he Chargers unless I gave up the world for him.
I don't know where people are getting these amazing trades... the AI won't accept offers that rip ME off, let alone build trades that wil rip the AI off.
I haven't seen crazy trades since like Madden 09 or MAYBE 10.
