If you buy the Madden NFL 13 Pre Order full game digital download is that the ACTUAL game just without a hard copy?

How does this work I've never done this before and want to make sure I know all the details before hand.

Yup. And if you're downloading the game early through the EA Season Ticket on the PS3, you will be prompted to purchase the game on August 28 once you load it up since access will have been expired by then.
