Those who care so much about the price rarely if ever have paid full price, Amazon routinely has them available for $35.

Anyways, it's a perk of using the online system, otherwise you get to wait for a patch.

Yeah well that's them, I don't always have the funds for it at the time to get it.

It's just so unnecessary, it's coming down to you must be required to have an internet connection nowadays to play a game.

Many have required internet or persistent connections to play their games of choice for a couple of decades. Everyone else has just caught up.

This will continue to become more pervasive, it's time to move on from games or accept the shortcomings of refusing to do so.

Well it's not a right thing to do. What if your internet connection drops or if the server for game drops? You lose everything since you most likely won't be prepared for it. I guess you will have to save every thing you do, so this means you better get your football games over with and quick because you never know if you get a connection drop from either your isp or server. That doesn't sound like a fun future to me, at all. And it's not just about me, other people will not be too giddy about it either.

Decades? not console gaming...let alone sports gaming.

well Microsoft apparently hasn't because they are STILL the only company that charges for Online play.

And I still prefer it over PSN as far as online functionality and gamind. I do like the "free" games at PSN but thats only when you pay for their service.
And they (MS) make a boat load of money just off the online... So yeah it's MS thats doing it wrong....

More like when will the users ever learn? All they're doing is keep giving M$ more & more of their money.

Hate Microsoft or not, they're in it for the $$$, just like EA Sports is. They work together, they make deals, it's probably why they (EA Sports) highly recommend (actually it wasn't even a recommendation, they just tell you to play online) to just play single player CCM through online, they're hoping people like me that don't have XBOX Live membership will break down and sign up for Gold membership.
