Are the devs the fall guys???

Josh Looman via twitter: I can't comment on anything related to patches or features. I just wanted to be clear with everyone.

Peter Moore
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...nt-Like-Change

On top of that, he says, ""We like to think that if you're connected to us 24 hours a day then the opportunity to make a buck is greater."

Peter Moore is a businessman from London. EA hired him to boost sales. I don't think all the stuff taken out of franchise mode was Looman and the others fault. But they are taking the blame for it.

I honestly think Peter Moore is trying to make Madden "different" and it's going to ruin the franchise. Once other companies start making football games, the disenfranchised fans will sway quickly away from Madden because of the past history.

What do you guys think?

I think EA Sports plan for Madden with this 3 year plan is to not change direction or be completely reactive. They should have a three year set plan that doesn't reset completely every three years. What I am talking about is the method of always knowing what you are building on and how it fits within the high-level plans for the future. This method will give them the ability to go from making good games to being an industry leader for the future.

Peter Moore has been bad for EA since the day he was hired. I've never been a fan of him or his "online" vision for the company.

This and that. If I was Peter Moore, I would have gathered the devs and went with a plan, brainstorm. Make a plan to change the element, but how do we do that without alienating the offline players? Because honestly with most of the stuff missing, that's what it feels like.

I would have made sure that didn't happen. That whatever direction we were going in, it had to be done without making others feel like they were undermined.

For the community being upset each year when things are either taken out or not implemented.

The shots are called from the top and the developers don't have much say in what goes into the game at the end of the day.

Eh, I long suspected it was out of their hands. A company as large as EA tends to be MORE heavy handed and bureaucratic than a smaller company.
