Can you still do the 'Focus' button on Defense?

In previous versions on defense, when you held RT, then icons popped up on the offensive players, you chose a player to focus on, and he'd get marked with a circle. I tried to do this now but the circle no longer happens.

Is it taken out of the game for M13 or it just doesn't mark it with the circle anymore?

I think its gone. I remember it in madden 12 for sure

Also, didn't want to make a thread for this, but can you still slant someone toward the sideline? They changed the "Right Stick --->" to a 'Zig' route.

Ya I think it's called spotlighting. But you could do it to the rb too.

Dont have the game pulled up BUT my guess would be-

Pull up your defensive hot routes or your secondary hot routes - my ******* forgets which one it is - then choose the "Individual Coverage" option. Choose the receiver you want to Spotlight, and there should be an option to spotlight him along with covering him via man coverage etc.

If it works, lmk because they changed some of the hot routes up this year but this was a way to do it in M12 I believe.

you can still do it... its pretty much what he said... I think you hit up on strat pad, then individual, then choose the person you want to spotlight, then spotlight. Its a lot of button presses though lol

1) UP on strat pad (or "Y" on xbox or triangle on ps3 with quicklinks on)

2) hit "A" on xbox or "X" on ps3 to enter individual cover mode

3) select the WR/TE/HB/FB you would like to custom cover

4) hit "A" on xbox or "X" on ps3 to spotlight/"focus"

4a) alternatively you can use RSTICK/LSTICK to individually shade receivers, play press coverage, or back off, etc
