Hmmm weird because I feel the collisions are the best that they've ever been in a Madden game. I've popped many people coming across the middle with Karlos Dansby and you can see the players neck snap back lol it looks vicious! I'll assume but won't count my chickens before they hatch just because of EA's track record, but the patch should tune the IE engine in some sort of way and if not it's fine for the first year of being implemented.

Watching the games today. It became abundantly clear, players need to fall forward more often when tackled.
I am gonna repeat that.

Players need to fall forward more often when tackled.

I am so tired of being tackled from the side and it stops all forward momentum or if I am running with Forte and I use the cover button and press up on the right stick to lower my head there should be no reason that when I run in to a CB or even an LB who is standing still or not running at full speed, that I would drop like a sack of potatoes.

IRL about 90% of the time somebody is tackled they fall forward, even guys running through the line. You hardly ever see a DL blow a player up when they reach the line.

If that could some how make it's way into the game, that would go a long way to making this game, that much better.

Id like for them to tune the IE like Backbreaker did and make the players have a "skelton". I think it would lead to more wrap tackles and less awkward bending and positions. The crash test dummy tackles are so bad to look at.
Wait, wait. You don't like tackles in Madden but you want the game tuned like Backbreaker? Did we play different versions of Backbreaker? That game lived (and subsequently died) with "crash test dummy" tackles.

It was a little hard for me to judge the tackles since the camera was so limited. And that wasn't the only thing that was limiting in BB. It was just a bad game. I only bought it and would have bought more, to support competition, not because BB was any good.

Not directed at you, just a general comment:
And, don't we want Madden to play as closely to how a real NFL game looks and feels as reasonably possible? Aren't devastating hits fairly rare, while most tackles are arm tackles?

Re: Lots of tackles. Few big hits.

It seems like a stiff breeze could knock a ball carrier over in this game. I don't like it at all. It's like flag football at times. "I made contact with a defender, time to go down." It looks like an NBA player trying to draw a foul by flopping. They need to patch this.

3 points for graphics, 1 point for the passable commentary, and a half point for the boxart. I can give no further points since the all over the place gameplay would ruin it anyway.

Re: Lots of tackles. Few big hits.

Im using a power back, isacc redman. He bounces off defenders , stiff arms, etc. maybe its the back type or the users stick skills. I see alot of cpu controlled hit sticks. My safety with high hit power, barry church, forced 6 fumbles in my last season.
