Just an idea I had...
What if we had to decide who had to be blocked pre-snap as the QB? You'd highlight the LB, CB, or S using your left analog...hit the button to be blocked and wa-la!
If you don't choose to block a blitzing defensive player then he comes in un touched with a free shot on the qb. You only have 5-7 guys able to use to block guys, so if you don't have enough guys to block then you better call a hot route etc. Obviously each offensive lineman would block the d-line guys...and if a d-lineman dropped into coverage then the o-lineman "should" be smart enough to help block a blitzer or double team a guy on the line.
I think it would be a great addition, and would create a lot more realism when playing. It would be cool to see your QB and Center pointing at guys at the LOS pre-snap, giving blocking assignments to the rest of the guys. This would allow us to be able to play long minutes without having to fast-forward the playclock a whole lot...with this addition, you'd want time of the playclock to do things like this pre-snap. Just an idea...
I passed on buying Madden this year after playing it some. I think I am spoiled after playing MLB The Show and NBA 2k with the realism they have. When I play Madden I just don't see much that I see on Sundays so it's hard for me to buy the game anymore. Until things like this among other things I see on Sunday are in the game, it will continue to be hard for me to buy. I do think they are moving in the right direction however, it's just going to be another 2-3 years...and by then the next gen systems are out and we start all over.
