You're thinking way too much into this. Almost on a collegiate thesis level.

I know what you're saying, but you're incorrect. If a player has a 90 for stamina, it just represents exactly how slow or fast his energy depletes. But all players start out with a 100 stamina level. As opposed to a player with only 75, that player's energy level will deplete faster.
