This is the last I will say about it because to me the discussion is quite ridiculous in the context of a computer program. In checkers it's a fair battle of wits and there really is no way to "cheat" the system. In Madden that is not the case because some people know how to exploit the program better than others, while some have no idea how to exploit the program at all. Also, before some asinine discussion about "cheating" the system comes up, a clear example is blatantly doing things that should draw a DPI or OPI but doesn't, running out of bounds to avoid blockers then back in to make a special teams tackle, etc.

I would presume someone like you would also play by the quote "if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying" too. So if you feel cheating to win or "winning at all cost" makes you a winner and those that don't subscribe to that a failure than we have totally different views on reality, so further discussion is pointless.

Then simply join a sim community online. Problem solved.

Whatever, lets just drop it. None of us is going to convince him of anything and vice-versa. If this guy derives sexual pleasure from exploiting computer programs at the expense of others, then so be it. Same goes for our preferred playstyle.

This post right here, that the Madden devs seem to agree with, is why claims that Madden is being created to be realistic, ie "sim" is a complete joke. Here we are discussing an alleged NFL simulation video game yet it is being suggested that I go join a "sim" community, created by other Users, not the devs, to play that way. SMH

Just imagine if in a NFL Blitz forum someone posted how that game is too realistic and complicated when it's supposed to be a pick up and play arcade game. Then to be told, "simply join an arcade community online. Problem solved." LOL

i don't see the problem with this, if they quite, you get a win and on to the next opponent. No need to waste 45mins of your time on a sorry opponent.

Yeah I agree, people being bothered by quitters isn't something I understand either. If they're a cheeser, then literally the best thing that can happen is for you to get the W without even having to deal with their antics.

We don't disagree, we just deal with it in different ways. I would absolutely love a true simulation that rewards realistic play. We just don't have that yet. And until we do I see no reason to try and force the game into being something it clearly isn't.

I'm OK with people going for it on 4th down, is a legit strategy on football and moreover on Madden where sometimes it pays. We have to understand that probabilities and risks of plays in Madden are different to those of real football, and a good player has to react according to it if he want to win a game. We're playing a videogame, not role-playing a real football game. However I usually like to play sim and take all the possible time, inciuding pauses, when I meet a player exceeding in no-huddles and similar.
