Why are LEs infinitely better at pass rushing compared to REs?

After quite a few ultimate team games, I was wondering why Aldon Smith (my LE) was getting infinitely more sacks than my right end, Jason Pierre-Paul.

So I went into practice mode. All-Pro (difficulty of online games), Canton Greats vs Jacksonville Jaguars. I created a right tackle before hand, with the exact same attributes, size, and weight as Eugene Monroe, the starting left tackle (who is a damn good left tackle).

First, I put Reggie White at left end (facing the cloned player at right tackle) and Lawrence Taylor at right end, facing the real Monroe. White beat the cloned Monroe on every single passing attempt after a very short period. Every single time. Taylor never once got past Monroe other than after 6-7 seconds of pocket time.

Then I switched them around, putting Taylor at LE and White at RE. White then could not beat the left tackle at all. Not once. Meanwhile, Taylor routinely beat the right tackle on every single play.

What gives?

This has been an oddity of madden for years. Not sure what causes it or how to fix it.

It's hard to think that every right tackle in the league sucks.

Robinson (LE) always leads my team in sacks with Allen (RE) usually being in the middle of the pack.

Like ghost said, it's just one of those unexplainable oddities.

I am seeing the same thing. Through 8 games in my CCM, Bruce Irvin has 5 sacks and Red Bryant has 4 (I rotate these two at LE). Chris Clemons, who is a 91 OVR, has 0 sacks through 8 games.

So I guess I'm not the only one.

Guess I'm better off putting a DT at RE for run-stuffing capabilities and a stud pass-rusher at LE, huh?

You could put Mr. Potato Head at LE and he would get 10+ sacks in a full season.

You should try this with a lefty and righty at QB and see if there is a difference.

You could also switch your DEs (RE to LE and vice versa) in obvious passing situations. There's a sub-package for it in the Nickel-Base formation.
